This afternoon the boys and girls Year 5/6 football teams went to Delves to play in their respective leagues. The boys played really well as a team, impressing Mr Wheelwright who was supervising them, and won 3 - 1. Mason scored a hat trick! Year 6 took part in the Split Second  workshop, an engaging and thought-provoking session that encouraged pupils to think carefully about the choices they make and the consequences those choices can have. This afternoon both the girls and boys Year5 and Year 6 football teams were involved in games v Alumwell. The girls won 2 - 0 in a game that they controlled. Alumwell were rarely in possession and any threat they caused was easily snubbed out by Evie and Isla-Rose. A huge thank you to our wonderful A* Sheriffs for leading a thoughtful and engaging assembly on road safety. They did an excellent job raising awareness of the importance of staying safe on and around our roads. Their clear messages and confident presentation helped promote safer behaviour within our school community and encouraged us all to think more carefully about road safety.

Our Year 5/6 boys’ football team played an away match against Croft Academy. The game was closely contested throughout; however, the boys were beaten 3–0. Our team found it challenging to adapt to the small, compact astroturf pitch, which played extremely quickly. Despite this, the boys showed great determination and teamwork.

Children in Year 5 enjoyed an immersive experience where they learnt all about Anglo Saxon life and the Battle of Hastings. Children explored Saxon artefacts, took part in a Witan council meeting and played traditional Anglo Saxon and Viking games. Children also used spears and shields to reenact the Battle of Hastings!

Autumn Term 2025 Dear Parents and Carers Summer seems like a distant memory as we wonder where this term had gone! It has been a long and busy Autumn term, packed with events and activities. Our Nursery enjoyed a wonderfully festive parent workshop! The session began with the children proudly singing a few Christmas songs for their parents — a lovely way to get everyone into the Christmas spirit. Year 1 thoroughly enjoyed their coding workshop with Engagedu. The children had a fantastic time learning how to create simple algorithms to move a character on the screen. They showed great enthusiasm, problem-solving skills, and excellent teamwork as they explored the basics of coding in a fun and engaging way.
