On Friday 20th March the Year 5/6 boys football team went to Millfield Primary to play in the Division 2 final against Bloxwich Academy. In a very closely contested game that was end to end, Hayden managed to score the only goal of the game. The game was nerve-wracking to watch but was played fairly by both teams.

Year 1 children really enjoyed the Blue Cross webinar today! They learned about different pets, where they live, and the wild animals they are related to. The session also introduced some scientists and explained how people work to care for animals. It was a really engaging session and the children loved taking part. As part of Waste Week, the Eco Warriors presented an assembly on how we can reduce food waste both at home and school. They also talked about the importance of reducing food waste in protecting our planet.

This afternoon the Year 5/6 boys football team went to Castlefort to play in the Division 2 semi-finals. In the first 10 minutes we were losing 2-0 but by half time the boys managed to pull it back to 2-2. In the second half Hayden Hill scored to win the game in a very close, competitive contest.

On Thursday 5th March, the children celebrated World Book Day at school. The day aimed to increase children’s love of reading while giving them the opportunity to share their favourite authors and books with others. This afternoon both the girls and boys Year5 and Year 6 football teams were involved in games v Alumwell. The girls won 2 - 0 in a game that they controlled. Alumwell were rarely in possession and any threat they caused was easily snubbed out by Evie and Isla-Rose. A huge thank you to our wonderful A* Sheriffs for leading a thoughtful and engaging assembly on road safety. They did an excellent job raising awareness of the importance of staying safe on and around our roads. Their clear messages and confident presentation helped promote safer behaviour within our school community and encouraged us all to think more carefully about road safety.
