Our Eco Warriors have been making a real difference in our local community! Equipped with litter pickers and plenty of enthusiasm, the group headed out this week to take part in a litter-picking initiative. The children showed fantastic teamwork and determination as they worked together to clean up the streets! We are proud of their efforts and the positive example they are setting. Well done, Eco Warriors—your actions truly make a difference!

The Year 5/6 girls football team travelled to Millfield to play against Croft Academy in the Girls Cup Final. The girls played really well together, everyone got involved and played well as a team, winning 2 - 0. Shelby scored in the first half and then in the second half an excellent corner kick from Addison caused an own goal.  Both teams played fairly and were a pleasure to watch.

Spring Term 2026 Dear Parents and Carers Thank you to all parents and carers for your continued support over the past term. Thank you to our Year 3 children and School Choir for the lovely Easter Service at Beacon Church this morning. The children sang beautifully and gave us a lovely start to our Easter Celebrations Thank you to all the family and friends who joined us and Rev Chris for the warm welcome.

The Cross country club attended a meet at the Walsall Arboretum for Years 3 - 6. All runners tried their hardest and enjoyed the event in very welcome sunshine. Some well deserved sibling achievements with brothers Freddie coming 1 st  in the Year 3 event and Hayden 1 st  in the Year 5 event. Although mixed races, Isla-Rose was the first girl to cross the line in Year 6 and Shelby Franklin the first girl in Year 5. Well done to every single runner who took part in the race -

We had some lovely Easter bonnets on parade this week - with our Nursery event on Monday and our Reception event on Tuesday. Our Reception donned their bonnets again on Wednesday for a parade around the school - happily waving through classroom windows at our older children! Thank you for all the creations!

The Year 5/6 boys football team went to Millfield Primary to play in the Division 2 final against Bloxwich Academy. In a very closely contested game that was end to end, Hayden managed to score the only goal of the game. The game was nerve-wracking to watch but was played fairly by both teams. Thank you to the boys football team, parents for supporting, Mr Rosser for accompanying and Mr Wheelwright for training. Massive congratulations!

Fire officers visited our Year 4 class to deliver the SPARKS programme. During the session, the children learned about the common causes of fires and discussed practical ways to prevent them in everyday situations. They were encouraged to think carefully about fire safety at home and in school, including the importance of recognising potential hazards. Year 4 had a fantastic time during their Micro:bits workshop delivered by EngagedU. Throughout the session, they learned how to programme a Micro:bit to perform different actions and explored the basics of coding in a fun and engaging way. The children were introduced to creating commands and using variables, applying these skills to design their own rock, paper, scissors game. Year 1 children really enjoyed the Blue Cross webinar today! They learned about different pets, where they live, and the wild animals they are related to. The session also introduced some scientists and explained how people work to care for animals. It was a really engaging session and the children loved taking part. As part of Waste Week, the Eco Warriors presented an assembly on how we can reduce food waste both at home and school. They also talked about the importance of reducing food waste in protecting our planet.

This afternoon the Year 5/6 boys football team went to Castlefort to play in the Division 2 semi-finals. In the first 10 minutes we were losing 2-0 but by half time the boys managed to pull it back to 2-2. In the second half Hayden Hill scored to win the game in a very close, competitive contest.

On Thursday 5th March, the children celebrated World Book Day at school. The day aimed to increase children’s love of reading while giving them the opportunity to share their favourite authors and books with others.
