​​Here at Pheasey Park Farm Primary School, we strongly believe that every single child can achieve their goals and be whatever they want to be. We encourage high aspirations for all. All staff support children in breaking down barriers to their learning in order to reach their potential and thrive in the learning environment. In this area, you will find useful links to external agencies, resources to support your child access their learning and help and advice. If you have any concerns about your child’s educational needs, then please contact Mrs Mayou or another member of the SEND team who will be happy to help.

The Burrow
The Burrow was opened in 2024 as a designated space for children to regulate. Selected children are invited to attend in the mornings to support a variety of needs. Children are also provided with breakfast. The Burrow is open daily between 8:40 - 9am to provide these identified children with a 'soft start' to their school day. During the school day, groups of children use this space to burn off energy, learn regulation strategies, have some quiet time or learn through play. If you feel your child would benefit from access to The Burrow, please contact the SENDCo.

Supporting Emotional Regulation
At Pheasey Park Farm, we recognise the importance of helping children develop the skills to understand and regulate their emotions. To support this, we have a range of spaces and resources throughout the school that promote emotional wellbeing and self-regulation, including regulation stations in every classroom, regulation walks within the corridors, our sensory circuit room, and The Burrow.
Our classroom regulation stations provide children with opportunities to practise self-regulation within their learning environment. Children are supported through co-regulation with a trusted adult and can access a range of resources and strategies to help them manage their emotions and develop effective regulation skills.

At times, some children may benefit from a quieter space away from the classroom. Our regulation walks, located in corridor areas around the school, offer a variety of activities designed to help children refocus, regulate their emotions, and return to learning successfully.

Our sensory circuit room provides a structured programme of physical activities that helps children regulate their sensory needs, improve focus, and prepare for learning. The circuit includes a combination of alerting, organising, and calming activities, such as jumping, balancing, and stretching. Sensory circuits may be used at key points throughout the day to support concentration, emotional regulation, and successful participation in classroom learning.
Meet the Staff
Mrs S Mayou
Inclusion Manager and Deputy Headteacher
I oversee and coordinates all aspects of inclusion across the school, working closely with the SEND team to ensure that every child is supported to achieve their full potential. The role involves leading inclusive practice, monitoring provision, and working collaboratively with staff, families and external agencies to meet the diverse needs of our pupils.
I have completed the National Accreditation for Special Educational Needs Coordination at Birmingham University.

Miss C Hollick
I coordinate SEND support in school. I support staff, children and parents to identify and remove barriers to learning. As SENDCo I am involved in the assess, plan, do, review process for all children on our SEND register and work in collaboration with school staff as well as external agencies, such as Educational Psychologists.
I have completed the National Accreditation for Special Educational Needs Coordination at Birmingham University.
Mrs N Wilcox
Mrs D Francis
We have a pastoral role in school and provide Hedgehogs support to children where needed. This can be organised through 1:1 sessions which take individual needs into account. We support with areas such as feelings & emotions, anxieties, well-being and bereavement, and also help to promote positive mental health.
We lead intervntion groups which can have themes including: communication, friendships, nurture and safety.
Mrs J Vardy
I liaise with Walsall Speech & Language Therapy to ensure their recommendations for the children receiving therapy are relayed to school staff.
I access children in school who may need the speech & language therapy service and support staff who work with children having speech & language therapy.
I have completed the National Accreditation for Special Educational Needs Coordination at Birmingham University.
