Our Eco Warriors have been making a real difference in our local community! Equipped with litter pickers and plenty of enthusiasm, the group headed out this week to take part in a litter-picking initiative. The children showed fantastic teamwork and determination as they worked together to clean up the streets! We are proud of their efforts and the positive example they are setting. Well done, Eco Warriors—your actions truly make a difference!

Thank you to our Year 3 children and School Choir for the lovely Easter Service at Beacon Church this morning. The children sang beautifully and gave us a lovely start to our Easter Celebrations Thank you to all the family and friends who joined us and Rev Chris for the warm welcome.

We had some lovely Easter bonnets on parade this week - with our Nursery event on Monday and our Reception event on Tuesday. Our Reception donned their bonnets again on Wednesday for a parade around the school - happily waving through classroom windows at our older children! Thank you for all the creations!

Our Nursery enjoyed a wonderfully festive parent workshop! The session began with the children proudly singing a few Christmas songs for their parents — a lovely way to get everyone into the Christmas spirit. After the singing, families enjoyed a range of Christmas activities together. Thank you to all our children and families who made a toy donation this year - you all did SO well! Mrs Francis loaded them all into her car and took then to Beacon Church, ready to be collected and taken to a local refuge. Rev Chris was 'chuffed' with how much school had collected on behalf of the Refuge. They hadn't had many donations this year until he collected from Beacon Church and School on behalf of the local community. They can now help so many children and families

We are incredibly proud of all the children who took part in Reception's Christmas production. Every child sang and performed beautifully, filling the hall with festive cheer and getting us all into the Christmas spirit.

A Year 5/6 girls and boys athletics team went to Streetly Academy to take part in a Sports Hall Athletics event. Everyone tried their hardest, performed really well and above all, enjoyed the event. They competed against 4 other schools.

The choir brought some festive cheer to the Collingwood Centre this week. They performed a selection of songs for the Lunch Group, filling the room with seasonal spirit. They also sang for a group of adults with additional needs and their carers, who had been invited over from the library. It was a wonderful opportunity for our pupils to share their music with the wider community and to help spread a little joy at this special time of year.

Our School Council enjoyed a wonderful afternoon visiting the Mayor’s Parlour. The children had the opportunity to meet the Mayor, learn about her role within the community, and ask thoughtful questions. They were also given a special tour of the Council Chamber, where official council meetings take place. A huge thank you to all the families who joined us for Reception’s Phonics Workshops. The children were so excited to share their learning with their grown-ups, and it was wonderful to see such enthusiasm in the room. We hope you found the session useful and that it provided some helpful ideas to support phonics learning at home.

Year 6 Badgeholders proudly represented our school at the Remembrance Wreath Laying Ceremony at Barr Beacon War Memorial. The event was led by the Mercian and Staffordshire Volunteer Regimental Associations and supported by the Barr Beacon Trust. The children had a memorable experience, learning about the importance of remembrance and the significance of honouring our fallen soldiers.

On Wednesday,  some Pheasey children went to Streetly Academy for a benchball festival. It was played in a non competitive atmosphere with teachers joining in if they wanted! All the children had a good time and showed excellent sportsmanship. They were a delight to take and represented the school well.

Thank you to all the families who were able to attend Year 1's Phonics Workshop.  The children thoroughly enjoyed sharing their learning with their grown-ups, and we hope you found the session both enjoyable and useful in supporting learning at home.
