On Friday, 12th June 2026, our school celebrated our annual Pyjamarama event, with children and staff embracing the fun by coming to school in their favourite pyjamas. Throughout the day, pupils took part in a range of exciting literacy activities inspired by much-loved authors, characters and stories. As part of Mental Health Awareness Week, the children took part in a range of activities designed to promote positive mental health and well-being, including the Mile Walk and creative classroom tasks. We also supported ‘Wear It Green Day’, where staff and children added a splash of green to their uniforms to help raise awareness of mental health and encourage open, positive conversations about well-being.

On Thursday 5th March, the children celebrated World Book Day at school. The day aimed to increase children’s love of reading while giving them the opportunity to share their favourite authors and books with others. This year’s theme was ‘Diversity’ , with a special focus on poetry and promoting the enjoyment of reading for all children. Children in Year 5 enjoyed an immersive experience where they learnt all about Anglo Saxon life and the Battle of Hastings. Children explored Saxon artefacts, took part in a Witan council meeting and played traditional Anglo Saxon and Viking games. Children also used spears and shields to reenact the Battle of Hastings!

Our school joined thousands of others across the country to celebrate Odd Socks Day 2025 – a fun and colourful way to kick off Anti-Bullying Week. Children came to school wearing their brightest, boldest, and most mismatched socks to celebrate what makes each of us unique. Odd Socks Day reminds us that it’s okay to be different and that our differences make our school community stronger. It’s also a time to talk about kindness, respect, and standing up for others.

Throughout Black History Month, children across the school have been learning about and exploring the incredible achievements of Black Sporting Stars. Each class researched their chosen athlete, discovering how they faced struggles, overcame challenges, and made positive contributions to the world of sport.
