This morning, Mrs Hannan led an exciting KS2 assembly to launch Black History Month.

As part of our learning, we explored the music and life of reggae legend Bob Marley. The children listened to some of his famous music and even had the opportunity to create their own reggae-inspired beats, bringing the rhythm and energy of the genre to life.

We also learned about Bob Marley's early life and the challenges he faced growing up. Through his story, children explored important messages about resilience, perseverance and believing in yourself, even when faced with change or difficult circumstances. His determination to follow his dreams and use music to spread positive messages inspired us all.

The assembly was a fantastic start to our Black History Month celebrations, and we look forward to continuing to learn about the achievements, contributions and stories of influential Black individuals throughout the month.

"The greatness of a person is not in how much wealth they acquire, but in their integrity and their ability to affect those around them positively." – Bob Marley.
