The whole school had a very exciting visit from the Animal Man company! The children were introduced to a wide variety of fascinating creatures, including an owl, a honey bear, snakes and even a tarantula! The visit sparked lots of curiosity and excitement as the children learned interesting facts about each animal.

Our Year 6 children absolutely blew our socks off with their incredible performance of Joseph! Their talent, confidence, enthusiasm, and teamwork shone through from start to finish, making it a performance to remember. We are so proud of every single child for their hard work and dedication. What a fantastic way to celebrate the end of their primary school journey—well done, Year 6!

For their final meeting of the year, our Eco Warriors requested a birdwatch, so on Friday we took our packed lunches out onto the field and enjoyed lunch surrounded by nature. We used the Merlin app to listen to the sounds of birds; we heard blue tits, sparrows and a magpie and we saw pigeons, blue tits and black birds! We even saw a pigeon protecting its nest! Such a lovely idea from the Eco Warriors and a tradition we hope to continue.

We are delighted to have once again been awarded the Eco-Schools Green Flag, with Merit! The assessors were impressed with the school’s engagement in a range of environmental issues across the community. They were pleased to hear about the success of our textile collections, Christmas jumper stall and book swaps. These events could not go ahead without your support, so thank you! The Eco Warriors are very proud of their achievement – and so they should be!

Year 1 had a fantastic time taking part in their Scootability session! They learned all about staying safe on their scooters, including the important safety checks to carry out before setting off and the many benefits of scooting, such as keeping active and helping the environment. Year 3 enjoyed an exciting visit to Dudley Zoo to support their science learning about animals. During the trip, pupils had the opportunity to observe a wide variety of animals and learn about different species from around the world. They explored the zoo's habitats, discovered interesting facts about animal adaptations and behaviours.

Year 2 had a fantastic visit to Tamworth Castle, where they explored the castle and dressed up in historical costumes, bringing history to life through hands-on learning.

Children who have been learning woodwind instruments enjoyed the opportunity to perform and celebrate their achievements from across the year. Their confident performances highlighted the progress they have made and the commitment they have shown.

Children who have been taking string lessons enjoyed performing and showcasing everything they have learned throughout the year. They played with confidence and enthusiasm, demonstrating the skills they have developed through their hard work, dedication and practice.

Year 1 had a wonderful time visiting Beacon Church. During their visit, the children learned about baptism and enjoyed acting out a baptism using Elsa the doll. They also took part in creative activities, making a colourful cross and creating a beautiful dove collage. It was a fantastic opportunity to learn about an important Christian celebration in a fun and engaging way.

Year 6 had a wonderful day on their Summer trip to Woodlands. They worked hard on all the outdoor activities and helped each other with teamwork. It was lovely to hear that they represented the school so well and 'got stuck in'!! Thank you to all the staff who also had a lovely time!!!

Our Year 4 children had a fantastic time on their residential visit to Whitemoor Lakes. They enjoyed a wide range of exciting activities, including raft building, zip wiring, orienteering, climbing and a disco. Throughout the trip, the children demonstrated teamwork, resilience and enthusiasm while creating wonderful memories with their friends. Well done, Year 4 – you were a credit to the school!

Year 5 children visited Beacon Church to explore a range of Christian artefacts and learn more about the Christian faith. During the visit, they examined important objects used in worship, including the Bible, candles, the font, the altar and the cross. The children listened carefully to explanations about the meaning and purpose of each artefact and asked thoughtful questions throughout the session. What a wonderful show! Our Year 4 children put on an outstanding performance of the Greatest Show this week. There were solos, group singing, ensembles, dance routines and many lines to learn and they all did a brilliant job, each and every one. Thank you to families for their support, staff for their commitment and continued hard work and the children for trying their very, very best.

Year 1's History Workshop was all about 'Toys from the Past'. Children had the opportunity to play a range of board games, explore toys from the past, make a puppet, create their own puppet show and to watch a puppet show! There was lots of learning that the children will be able to apply during their History topic 'Childhood'.

Year 3 had a fantastic day stepping back in time to the Stone Age, where they discovered what life was like in a Stone Age tribe. The children explored ancient cave paintings and even created their own, gaining insight into how early humans expressed themselves. They also enjoyed trying their hand at archery and learning about the clothing worn during this period.
