Year 5 VE Celebrations

Thursday 8th May

What a fantastic experience our Year 5 pupils from our school had on their trip to Barr Beacon to mark the 80th anniversary of VE Day! On Thursday, 8th May, 10 of our students took part in a special event attended by Councillor Anthony Harris (Mayor of Walsall), MP Wendy Morton, members of the Barr Beacon Trust, veterans from the Mercian Regiment, and representatives from the Walsall and Bloxwich branch of the Staffordshire Regiment Association. With Freya's help, the national flag was raised to the national anthem, setting the tone for a memorable day. Our pupils thoroughly enjoyed their experience participating in such a significant occasion. The afternoon concluded with a lovely garden party, games and a memorable experience exploring and sitting in a military jeep! We could not be prouder of our children for their enthusiasm, respect, and engagement throughout the event.
