Spring Term 2026

Dear Parents and Carers
What a busy week in school - despite there only being 4 days. Children have come back refreshed - although I think most of Year 6 will be wiped out this week as they return from the Laches Wood residential today. I am very excited to hear all about this trip! The children who did not attend the residential were also very busy and got stuck into some art projects!
Big thank you to all the staff who accompanied the children - I'm sure they will also be having an early night!
Have a lovely weekend.
Mrs Arnold

Dance Festival

Thank you to all our children for performing in our annual dance festival at the end of last half term! You ( and your teachers) all did really well celebrating music and dance through the ages.
Thank you to all family members who joined us at this event and thank you to Mrs Page for organising the day.
World Book Day - Reminder for next Thursday
The World Book Day organisation worked with schools and nurseries to distribute gift vouchers, which

our children received at the end of last half term, to ensure that all children can have a book of their own.
On Thursday 5th March, children (and staff) can dress up as their favourite book character for £1.00 payable on the day. ALL monies raised will be used to purchase books for the children. The children will be able to bring their favourite story into school to share. We are looking forward to seeing all the literary characters!
Inclusive Attendance - updating our approach to attendance
We are excited to share some important updates regarding our approach to attendance here at Pheasey Park Farm. Our commitment to providing the best support for your children and families has led us to collaborate with an organisation known as Inclusive Attendance. Together, we aim to empower children to attend school regularly and overcome any potential barriers they may face in their educational journey.
Effective communication with all our families is central to our values and this is an area we are working hard to improve on. In light of this, we will transition from reporting attendance in percentage form to a focus on the number of days missed. This shift will simplify the process, enhance communication and help all families have a clear understanding of the impact of missed school days on education.
Another significant change we are implementing is moving away from a rewards-based system. Instead, we will adopt a recognition-based approach that allows us to be more inclusive and creative in acknowledging personal achievements and promoting the importance of regular school attendance among both our children and families.
We will be sending further information out about this.
Children's Mental Health Week
During the week 9th – 15th February 2026 we celebrated Children's Mental Health Week in school. This year’s theme from Place2Be was ‘This is My Place’, encouraging us to create an environment where pupils can feel they really belong. There were assemblies to promote Children’s Mental Health Week and all year groups completed an activity focusing on the theme.
We were lucky enough to be nominated and have received a mental health book bundle by a local business. Toni Clifton, a local Independent Usborne Partner (the_agile_book_club) ran a community mission to obtain sponsors for mental health books for schools in aid of children’s mental health week.
We really appreciate having these new books in school for the children to share.

Harlequins Orienteering Club

In association with the Asda Community Programme, Harlequins Orienteering Club is putting on a beginners' orienteering event at Queslett Nature Reserve on the afternoon of Sunday 8th March. Come along to the entrance of the Asda store any time between 12.30pm and 2pm to get your map. Children can take part on their own, or in pairs or in groups, with or without their parents/carers.
Although participants can just turn up on the day, it's helpful to know how many people will be attending, so there's a QR code linking to an entry form on the poster, or people can text/whatsapp me on 07505 381666.
Thanks and best wishes,
Adrian Bailey

Curriculum /overviews
Our half termly curriculum overviews for parents and carers have been uploaded to our website. There is an overview for each year group, for each subject with ideas to support at home if you wish. These can be found on the link below:
Online Safety - Roblox
Many of our young children in school are playing Roblox and talking about it a lot! We know that this is a platform that can be exploited by others, so it is important a supportive framework is created which your child can explore safely, with clear boundaries and trusted adults to turn to.
What is Roblox?
Roblox isn’t a single game. It’s a platform where users create and play millions of different games, known as “experiences.” Some are simple obstacle courses; others are complex role-playing worlds. Because much of the content is user-generated, quality and appropriateness can vary. Roblox uses age-based content labels and moderation systems to filter inappropriate material. However, no system is perfect. That is why parental oversight remains important, especially for younger children.
How do I make Roblox safe for my child?
One of the biggest concerns on Roblox isn’t the games themselves, but interactions with other users. While Roblox monitors chats and blocks certain language, children may still encounter inappropriate behaviour or requests.
Make use of the safety features available:
Block and report:
Make sure your child knows how to find and use the report and block functions. Use the Roblox how to make a report page to learn how to do this.
Safety settings:
Set up the parental controls that are right for your family. You can also disable chat, set up the Parent PIN and use the Account Restrictions within Roblox. Click here for more information on how to use the Safety features.
Settings for under 13s:
There are additional safety features for under-13s , so it’s worth checking your child’s account is registered with the correct age. Players under the age of 13 have a <13 symbol next to their username on the game at all times, however this is not displayed to other players.
Remind your child that they should come to you if they ever see something inappropriate, mean comments or if anything worries them within the game. If you know how to report this type of content within Roblox, you will be in the best position to help them if they need it.
