Summer Term 2025

Dear Parents and Carers,
We have a lot of activities and events in school over the next half term - please check the Dates for your Diary section below. We also receive flyers about activities taking place in the local community out of school hours or in the holidays. We do advertise them on here so that parents see the information - but please be aware that this is not a recommendation from school and that parents are best placed to make the decision about any bookings they make.
Mrs Arnold and all the staff
Brass Concert
Thank you to all our Brass musicians and to parents for sharing in the brass concert last week!
The children did really well and we hope they continue their music pathway as they move into Secondary School.
Woodwind Concert
Thank you also to our Woodwind Musicians who played their concert on the 10th of June and for parents and carers for joining us. The children played really well and we even enjoyed some singing!
Well done children!
Careless Talk Workshop for Year 6
Careless Talk is a thought provoking drama which explores how a young person could be groomed to take part in extremist action. The children are guided through a process where they find positive and peaceful solutions which promotes social responsibility, tolerance and respect.
The children learned a lot from the workshop and behaved in a very mature and insightful manner.
Parental Code of conduct
Our Trust Board have recently reviewed the Parent Code of Contact and we are sharing this with Parents on our Trust Website -
Due to a number of specific incidences we have experienced, please could parents take note of the following behaviours that will not be tolerated:
• Swearing, or using offensive language
• Any aggressive behaviour (including verbally or in writing) towards another child or adult
• Disciplining another person’s child – please bring any behaviour incidents to a member of staff’s attention
• Smoking (including vaping) or drinking alcohol on the school premises
• Covert recordings - To maintain a culture of trust, respect, and privacy, our Trust strictly prohibits the covert recording of conversations, meetings, or any other interactions - whether in person, over the phone, or via digital platforms - without the explicit knowledge and consent of all parties involved. Obtaining information through covert recording may constitute a criminal offence under data protection legislation.
Parent Survey
Links have gone out via text for parents to complete our Parent/Carer survey so that we can gain views of our school community. You can also find the survey on the link below:
Children also complete a pupil survey in school over the next few weeks as well as all of our staff.
Online Behaviours Newsletter
As children spend more time online – whether watching videos, gaming, chatting, or doing homework – it's important that parents and school stay involved and informed. This newsletter shares the latest online safety news, emerging risks (including AI), and easy ways to protect your child online.
School Games Award - PLATINUM!!
We are delighted to announce that we have achieved the School Games PLATINUM Mark Award for the 2024/25 academic year. The School Games Mark is a Government-led award scheme launched in 2012, facilitated by the Youth Sport Trust to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school and into the community, and we are delighted to have been recognised for our success.
Many of our children have competed in local inter-school competitions this year and we are extremely proud of our pupils for their dedication to all aspects of school sport, including those young leaders and officials who made our competitions possible. As part of our application, we were asked to fulfil criteria in the areas of participation, competition, workforce and clubs, and we are pleased that the hard work of everyone at our school has been rewarded this year.
A special thanks to Mrs A. Forward - our PE Leader, Mr D. Rosser - Outdoors Leader and Mr D. Thompson - our Sports Coach.
Helping Young People Stay Safe on Smartphones and Online.
In light of the recent series shown on Netflix - Adolescence and the need to educate young people about the pressures and the content they can view online, Kooth are offering parents and carers this 30 minute webinar covering how you can encourage your child to think about how they spend their time on social media platforms and how they can get help to deal with similar situations that they may find themselves in. The webinar covers:
• Young people online
• Social media, the law, the pros and cons
• Smartphone safety
• What parents can do to support their children
• How our platforms can help

Health and Safety
There are an increased number of children who are running up and down the banks by the Y3/4 classrooms both before and after school. We have also noticed some children walking along the raised walls and on the seating area within the gazebo. We want all children to remain safe on our site therefore please ensure your child is not taking part in anything that can cause them harm - our staff will address any behaviours which are not appropriate.
Safety with Dogs
After a couple of incidents involving children and dogs, please have a look at the posters below regarding Dog Safety
