Summer Term 2026

Dear Parents and Carers,
Safeguarding Notice:
You may have noticed that the dates for key events are noted below but that we no longer put specific details such as timings of events and venues for school trips on the newsletter or website calendar area. This is as a result of some of the awful events that we have seen in recent years which have involved individuals targeting children's events.
For any event in school involving our children, we do not publish the time and for a school trip we do not state where this is. On letters to parents of children involved, we give further details but we have reduced as much as we can of specific details on areas that are most publicly available such as our newsletter and on the calendar of the website.
As a school we take this matter extremely seriously and is the reason why we now make sure most events are ticketed even where there is no charge and that we know who to expect at events such as parent workshops by using Microsoft Forms. Congratulations assemblies are invite only and our staff note who comes in and who they are there to see.
It is a shame that schools are having to take such measures but we feel we have to do everything we can to minimise any risks to the children.
We will be adding the dates, times and venues of trips to Class Dojo for events up until the end of the year as this is not public and is only available to our parents.
Thank you for your understanding
Mrs Arnold and all the staff

Year 6 Trip to Woodlands
Year 6 had a wonderful day on their Summer trip to Woodlands. They worked hard on all the outdoor activities and helped each other with teamwork. It was lovely to hear that they represented the school so well and 'got stuck in'!! Thank you to all the staff who also had a lovely time!!!

Pyjamarama
Our annual ‘Pyjamarama’ will take place on Friday, 12th June 2026. Both children and staff will be able to go ‘pyjama crazy’ completing activities about favourite characters and authors.
We will be celebrating stories together for a donation of £1.00 payable on the day in cash.
Monies raised will be divided between the Book Trust who want every child to experience the comfort and joy of bedtime reading and the purchase of more books for our School Library.
Children will be able to arrive to school and go home wearing their pyjamas although they must be dressed appropriately for the weather and for travelling to and from school.
During the day your child will participate in a ‘Pyjamarama’ activity and we are also asking that your child brings in their favourite book (fiction -story, poem, or non-fiction) to share with their peers and class teacher. More information can be located at: booktrust.org.uk/pyjamarama
Year 1-6 Water Safety Skills
From next week, we will be running our usual water safety skills sessions for children in Year 1-6 which is something we do at this point every year. However, there has been such sad news over the past few days regarding children and young people drowning in open water that we wanted to reassure parents that this is a focus over the next 3 weeks.
In addition to our water safety sessions, our swimming teacher has shared some key points below about ‘keeping safe around open water’. We urge Parents and Carers to reinforce water safety messages with their children and we will continue to teach water safety skills in school.
Always be with an adult when you are around open water.
Look for dangers, take notice of signs for advice.
If you’re at the seaside use a beach which is supervised by lifeguards.
Don’t forget open water had lots of hidden dangers, things that may not be seen – depth of water, rubbish, weeds, currents and temperature to name but a few.
If you see someone in trouble in open water, do not go in to rescue even if you are a strong swimmer. Ring 999, try and throw something that floats to the person in the water or use something to reach out if they are close enough.
Remember that even in the hot weather, open water is very cold so do not be tempted to go in. Go to a leisure centre for a swim where the water is warm, clear and is watched over by lifeguards.
