Year 3 Easter Presentation at Beacon Church

Thank you to our Year 3 children and School Choir for the lovely Easter Service at Beacon Church this morning. The children sang beautifully and gave us a lovely start to our Easter Celebrations
Thank you to all the family and friends who joined us and Rev Chris for the warm welcome.
Achievement Assemblies

Our Achievement Assemblies went ahead this week where we celebrated children's achievements across the school from Nursery up to Year 6. We saw the entries and winners for the Easter Egg/Poster competition and Children's Mental Health Week, heard all about our KS2 athletics, swimming and football achievements, our attendance recognitions and team point winners. We heard songs from the Easter Service and shared memories of the Dance Festival and Discos.
Scott were the winners of the Team points trophy...
Our Achievement Winners - those children who have demonstrated that they can follow our 3 Rs - Responsibility, Respect and Readiness to Learn - were:
Year 1 - Zhara - 1NS
Year 2 - Riley - 2KW
Year 3 - Seb - 3AR
Year 4 - Roman - 4AF
Year 5 - Billy - 5KP
Year 6 - Paige - 6AS
Uniform
Children can wear their summer uniform after Easter - please see our website for the Uniform Policy if you are unsure of any items. With uniform, we are expecting children to strictly adhere to the policy. This includes our PE uniform and our School uniform.
If children are not wearing the correct uniform - they will receive a negative point on dojo so that parents are aware.
Homework
Since we updated our homework policy, procedures seem to be working well - with younger children concentrating on reading, spelling and TT Rockstars. In Years 5 and 6 are set English and Maths homework in preparation for Secondary School. The expectation is that any work set for home must be completed. Children are given a full week to complete their homework and if it is not returned on the Friday, they are given a reminder and the weekend to complete it. On the Monday, if homework is still not returned children will receive a negative dojo so that parents are aware and they will complete the task at homework club in school.
We really appreciate your support with this as we aim to encourage a positive work ethic for the children.
Easter Bonnets
We had some lovely Easter bonnets on parade this week - with our Nursery event on Monday and our Reception event on Tuesday. Our Reception donned their bonnets again on Wednesday for a parade around the school - happily waving through classroom windows at our older children!
Thank you for all the creations!
Boys football
Last Friday, the Year 5/6 boys football team went to Millfield Primary to play in the Division 2 final against Bloxwich Academy. In a very closely contested game that was end to end, Hayden managed to score the only goal of the game. The game was nerve-wracking to watch but was played fairly by both teams.
Thank you to the boys football team, parents for supporting, Mr Rosser for accompanying and Mr Wheelwright for training. Massive congratulations!

Girls football
Our girls football team have made it through to the finals - and we will update families on their results when we return from the Easter break!
Cross Country
The Cross country club attended a meet at the Walsall Arboretum for Years 3 - 6. All runners tried their hardest and enjoyed the event in very welcome sunshine. Some well deserved sibling achievements with brothers Freddie coming 1st in the Year 3 event and Hayden 1st in the Year 5 event.
Although mixed races, Isla-Rose was the first girl to cross the line in Year 6 and Shelby Franklin the first girl in Year 5. Well done to every single runner who took part in the race - you were all amazing.
Mr Rosser
Easter Egg Competition
Our School Council have judged the egg competition and it was extremely difficult this year - and a record number of entries! After lots of deliberation, here are the results:

EYFS - Oliver NNS (jointly with sister Ashleigh in 5KP)
KS1 - Tommy - 1NS
LKS2 - Heidi - 4OC
UKS2 - Archie - 5SM
Use of Mobile Phones
We have had reports that a parent/parents are using their phones on the playground before school.
Please note that mobile phones are not permitted to be used on site due to safeguarding reasons.
Under no circumstances should adults take photographs or videos on our site unless specifically permitted at events such as a production.
SEND
For some parents, having a child who struggles with their mental health can be very worrying and the impact can be far reaching. CAMHS are running some workshops to help support our young people and the registration details are below:

Fundraising
We have been very busy raising money for charities and also our own children here at Pheasey.
World book Day raised £354.62 which will be spent on books for the class book corners and for the school library.
School Disco's raised £1211.74 which will go towards workshops and external visitors for children.
Red Nose Day (Comic Relief) raised £219.20 - all of which has gone to Comic Relief.
Thank you for your generosity!
Parking around the Site - A message from West Midlands Police - Local Neighbourhood team
The team conducted a parking patrol around Pheasey Park Farm Primary School as they had received complaints from concerned residents around inconsiderate and dangerous parking in Wimperis Way, Raeburn Road and surrounding streets.
If you have concerns around a particular school with regard to parking, please get in touch with the Local Neighbourhood Team who can then plan a joint patrol in conjunction with the council enforcement officers.
International schools
We are excited to tell you that we have achieved the International School Award Intermediate Certificate: Developing Internationalism. The International School Award is an excellent way of promoting the international dimension across our school and throughout our curriculum, highlighting the benefits of learning from across the globe. This is as a direct result of the work we have done with schools across the world - coordinated by Mrs Shariff.
