Autumn Term 2025

Dear Parents and Carers
We are well and truly in the season of cold and wet weather. As such, we wanted to remind parents of our procedures in the event of adverse weather - particularly now we have moved to Arbor messages rather than texts.
In the event of adverse weather, all efforts will be made to keep school open in order to minimise disruption to our children’s education and support working families. However, in the event of closure parents/carers will be notified as soon as practically possible.
A decision to close will usually be made by 7:00 am on the day and this will be then communicated to parents through:
• Arbor Message – a message will be sent to all Primary Guardians on our school management system so please ensure contact details are up to date
• School Web Site - we will place a notification on the front page of the School Web Site and keep parents updated throughout
• Class Dojo - we will place a notification on the School Story and keep parents updated throughout
• Walsall Children’s Services will be notified who will update their information-www.walsall.gov.uk
In the event that adverse weather sets in during the day then we will again make every attempt to keep school open for the full day, however any extra curricular school clubs will be cancelled. If we advise parents to collect early during the day then this will be communicated to parents by Arbor Message.
If school is closed, work will be set by teachers and uploaded to Class Dojo.
Mrs Arnold

Anti Bullying week - Odd Socks
National Anti-Bullying Week took place between Monday 10th and Friday 14th November 2025. This year’s theme was ‘Power for Good’ - chosen by the Anti-Bullying Alliance because “Teachers and children wanted a theme that empowered them to do something positive to counter the harm and hurt that bullying causes. This year, we want to empower children to use their Power for Good to speak out, support others, and build a world where kindness wins.”
As part of Anti-Bullying Week, we celebrated ‘Odd Socks Day’. The idea behind this is to promote inclusivity, celebrate individuality, encourage children to express themselves and promote core values of Anti-Bullying Week.
The children had a lovely week - completing practical activities to promote speaking out about bullying.
Year 1 Trip to Sudbury Hall
Year 1 enjoyed their trip to Sudbury hall. They were able to explore lots of interesting toys both old and new and had a Victorian school experience too!
Mrs Vardy
Year 5 Trip to the Space Centre
Children had a wonderful day at the Space Centre in Leicester where they learnt all about what it is like to be an astronaut. They even saw a real piece of moon rock that was collected on the Apollo 17 mission! Children explored the story of the space race- a significant movement in modern history- and enjoyed the interactive displays which taught them all about our planet and the forces in our Solar System.
Mrs Price
Back in school, they have been learning about the phases of the moon. They worked in groups creating the phases using Oreo biscuits and removing the cream to create each phase!
The Thomas Project

We have received this thankyou letter from the Thomas project following the donations passed to them from our Harvest celebrations. We wanted to share this with families as they were very grateful to all of you.
Primary school applications for September 2026
Please ensure you submit any applications for children starting Reception in September 2026 by the closing date 15 January 2026. It is important that applications are submitted by this date as any late applications can significantly reduce the chance of parents/carers receiving an offer of a preferred school.
Reception
Children born between 1 September 2021 and 31 August 2022 are due to start reception in September 2026.
Please remember that having a place in Nursery does not guarantee a place in a Reception class.
Preferences
As always, we recommend that parents and carers make use of all three preferences available to them.
The applications process is all online and the Walsall school admissions team are hosting drop-in sessions throughout this term to support parents and carers with any questions they have.

Pheasey Football News
Last Tuesday afternoon, the boys football team went to Croft Academy and played on their all weather pitch. Pheasey won 2 - 0. The pitch was very small and it was quite tricky to play in such a congested area but the boys managed to squeeze 2 goals in. Behaviour was excellent and they were a pleasure to take.

The boys Year 5/6 football team also played in a tournament at Bescot Stadium. They played 4 games, beating Christchurch 4-0 and Holy Trinity 2-1 and drawing against Short Heath 2-2 and County Bridge 0-0. Unfortunately they did not manage to make it through to the final but did beat Mayfield convincingly in a friendly while the final was being played. Well done!

Last Week the Year 5/6 girls football team played against Castlefort and won 7-0. The girls played confidently and with great composure, passing the ball around from the back and playing for each other. They were well organised so a big shout out to Mr Wheelwright and a special mention to Amelia who scored 5 goals before coming off.

They also played away against Millfield. Despite missing 2 key outfield players and the goalkeeper, the girls managed to win 1 - 0. Evie did an excellent job standing in as goalkeeper and Evelyn had a great game in defence. A Year 5 girls team played a friendly "b" team game against Millfield. It was a very closely contested game and could have gone either way but Daisy managed to squeeze one in and win the game for us. Well done to all teams for playing so enthusiastically and representing the school so well!
Primary Futures Mark

Congratulations and thank you to Mrs Stephenson and all who have worked on Learning about Careers - our recent submission has earned our school a Gold Award, the highest level of achievement in the Primary Futures Recognition Scheme. This award reflects not only the quality of our career-related learning, but also the passion and commitment our school has shown in inspiring pupils to think big about their futures!
