Dear Parents and Carers,

Last newsletter of the year and what an emotional day it has been for our Year 6 children (and parents...and staff!). These children have embraced all that the last year has had to offer - their excellent performance in Oliver, their end of year SATs results, their reports and their Leavers Assembly today.  A lovely way to end the year!

Our achievement assemblies have taken place this week and children’s achievements in their learning, sports and friendship towards others have been recognised.

Please can we say a massive thank you to parents and carers for all your support this year and for everything you do for your children. We have a remarkable set of children here and they are such a credit to you all. Thank you also for your end of year comments and kind words to individual members of staff - these are always passed on to them.

From all of the staff at Pheasey, have a lovely Summer break with your families and we will see most of you back in September.

For our Year 6 children and parents, we wish you all the very best in your new schools and in all of your future adventures. We will remember you all so please keep in touch with us!

Good luck and best wishes from all of the Staff at Pheasey

End of Year Achievement Awards

At the end of every year, children are nominated for a range of different awards including drama, swimming and sport. These are presented during our end of term Achievement Assemblies.

Well done to our End of Year Achievement award winners for 2025!

Year 3 Recorders

From September, all Year 3 pupils will need a recorder for their weekly music lesson - they will be performing for parents in the Summer Term!

Recorders can be bought from local music shops, online or through school via Arbor.

Year 6 Production of Oliver

What an amazing performance last week of Oliver from our Year 6 pupils. The singing was outstanding - from individuals, to groups, to the whole Year 6 ensemble, we have some very talented youngsters and we know parents and carers will be very proud, and rightly so. Opportunities like this give children a chance to shine, and they couldn't have shone any brighter. Well done everyone and what a way to end your time at Pheasey.

Uniform

PE Uniform

From September, Reception pupils will be able to come to school in PE uniform on their PE day as well as Years1-6. We have found that this saves so much time in school which can be spent on PE activities as well as a reduction in lost property.

Now that most pupils are used to this, we will be ensuring they comply with our PE uniform policy.

  • White t shirt with school logo

  • Navy shorts (no black Nike Pro shorts please!)

  • Black or white plain trainers

  • Navy sweatshirt

  • Navy joggers or leggings

If your child is getting their ears pierced, please consider this at the start of the holidays to avoid any issues being able to take them out for PE.

Swimming

For swimming, children should wear tight fitting trunks or a full swimming costume.

Please note that we do not allow nose clips or goggles without a medical note.

Hair

Shaved patterns/partings are not permitted. If you wish your child to have these, please could this be done in the holidays so that they will no longer be visible when returning to school in September.

Hair past shoulder length should be tied back for health and safety reasons.

Winners of the 3 Rs Prize Draw

Every time a child completes their Achievement Book by collecting House Points, their name is added to a prize draw to win a £10 Voucher. They are awarded House Points for excellent effort and also for the 3 Rs - Respect, Responsibility and Ready to Learn.

In the end of term Assembly, the lucky winners were:

Year 1 - Esmae L

Year 2 - Sienna H

Year 3 - Sienna B

Year 4 - Nikola T

Year 5 - Alfie H

Year 6 - Roman

Dinner Price increase

From September, due to the increased cost in both food and fuel, we are having to increase the price of hot dinners to £2.60 - this is in line with the Government costing for school dinners.

NB - please ensure any outstanding arrears on your Arbor account is cleared before the children start back in school in September.
