Attendance

It is a legal requirement that all children of compulsory school age attend school regularly.

At Pheasey Park Farm our expectation for attendance is 97%. If a child falls below 92%, attendance is monitored by our School Education Welfare Officer. Where attendance drops below 90%, the Department for Education class this as ‘persistent absence’ and medical evidence will be required for any absence to be authorised.

We are committed to working together with families to resolve issues affecting attendance and will offer parent meetings to discuss falling attendance to try and prevent prosecution.

If your child requires time away from school for exceptional circumstances, for example a music exam, funeral etc please complete a leave of absence form which can be found online in our Parents section under 'Forms' or alternatively a paper copy can be collected from the school office.

Please note that schools do not authorise any holidays in term time. Taking a holiday with your child may result in a fixed penalty notice issued by Walsall Council - this is £60 per adult, per child and escalates if unpaid after 21 days.

For further information, please see the attendance policy within the ‘Policies’ section.
